Swept Away

Image
Hey, I saw Swept Away! And I want to talk about the entire experience. Picture this, it is a late weekday night. I am watching a hallmark movie, and checking my Instagram. What do I see? "Swept Away announces closing date". Now, I had extremely mixed thoughts on whether to buy tickets or not. But when I saw the closing announcement, only having being posted 12 minutes before, I went straight to TDF and bought the tickets I had been keeping my eye on for several days, a Sunday night performance.  How beautiful is this album cover! I didn't know really anything about this show, except for that there was a ship wreck. That was enough for me. The first thing I noticed about the show was that is was so cohesive. The artwork on the outside of the theater was gorgeous. It fit the vibe of the show, and the style ran throughout all the merch. The show was one act, and I was hooked for all of it. At the start of the show, the main character Mate was lying in a bed dying. He is visi...

Sunset Boulevard

Hello, Sunset Boulevard seems to the be the show everyone was talking about. So, when we saw TDF tickets for one of Mandy Gonzalez's performances, we took the chance and got them. We didn't know the plot super well before hand, but read the wikipedia summary, so we wouldn't be confused. It was New Years Day, and pretty warm out. We had rushed Gypsy for matinee tickets, and had evening tickets for Sunset Boulevard. The story follows Joe, as he accidentally ends up as a houseguest to former movie star, Norma Desmond. Norma has been irrelevant for years, but still believes in her delusion she is famous. Her butler (and former husband) Max is feeding her delusion by writing fake fan mail. Joe ends up staying at Norma's mansion to help her with her terrible screenplay, for which she wants produced and wants to star as the 16 year old protagonist. A lot of truths come out as Norma slips further into her madness. The show ends with her shooting and killing Joe, but still belie...

Halloween!

Hello Everyone, This year on Halloween, I went back to The Outsiders. There were seats available for purchase on the right orchestra for 109$, which is pretty good for how good the seats were. It was a very refreshing experience that I wanted to share.  I arrived in the city around 6:10. We parked and started a walk to the theater. We got some pizza, and kept walking. It was really cool to see people coming into the pizza shop to trick or treat. In the area I live, you wouldn't really ever do that. We arrived at about 6:40, and stood in a little line. Inside the theater, we headed to the merch table. Quick tip, we also try to look for a merch table in the less popular area. The table in the orchestra had a big line, while the one in the downstairs by the bar had no line. I already had most of the stuff I would have wanted, except for the Moleskin brand notebook. The last two times I was there, it was discontinued, but it was back. Then we went to our seats.  Most of the ...
