Halloween!
Hello Everyone,
This year on Halloween, I went back to The Outsiders. There were seats available for purchase on the right orchestra for 109$, which is pretty good for how good the seats were. It was a very refreshing experience that I wanted to share.
I arrived in the city around 6:10. We parked and started a walk to the theater. We got some pizza, and kept walking. It was really cool to see people coming into the pizza shop to trick or treat. In the area I live, you wouldn't really ever do that. We arrived at about 6:40, and stood in a little line. Inside the theater, we headed to the merch table. Quick tip, we also try to look for a merch table in the less popular area. The table in the orchestra had a big line, while the one in the downstairs by the bar had no line. I already had most of the stuff I would have wanted, except for the Moleskin brand notebook. The last two times I was there, it was discontinued, but it was back. Then we went to our seats. Most of the reason we went to the show was to get one of the anniversary playbills. We got the one with the plank. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't my least favorite either. We had a lot of understudies, but that was pretty exciting. We had Trevor Wayne as Ponyboy, who was our last Ponyboy to see. Also Maggie Kuntz as Cherry, Wanza Johnson as Dally, Milena Comeau as Ace, and Jordan Chin as Two Bit. I was a little disappointed at first, but soon was really excited.
The show was incredible, as always. One of my favorite things about Trevor Wayne as Ponyboy was at several points during a few of his songs, he just went up an octave! I won't go into the show itself much, you can find that anywhere, or on my page from back in April! But I want to share my experience a bit more with you.
I was not really planning to stage door. I brought my stuff, just in case, but I didn't want to be in a crazy crowd, or rush out during bows, or leave during the Red Buckets. However, bows came, and no one was leaving. Then Red Buckets, and still basically no one was leaving. I left my seat at the very end of Red Buckets, but in hindsight, it was not really necessary.
I got a spot right on the barricade. There was only 2 rows of people, and I felt comfortable moving away from the barricade without losing my spot, which was really nice. There were a lot of big fans there. Good amount of people came out, specifically Kevin William Paul, Maggie Kuntz, Dan Berry and Sky Lakota Lynch. A significant highlight for me was getting my book signed by Sky, which completed the collection. It was definitely one of my favorite stagedooring moments of all time. It wasn't stressful at all, and I am so happy with the photos I got.
Thanks for reading
