Believe in Christmas

Hi!

Today, I will be talking about the Hallmark movie Believe in Christmas. The story follows Beatrice and Emilia as they take a winter vacation to "Christmas land". Emilia is a huge Christmas fan, while Bea is just along for the ride, to support her best friend.

Christmas land is a town that has committed itself to being the perfect Christmas getaway to resemble a hallmark style movie. There are some other interesting characters, such as Ethan and Porter. Ethan is son of the inn owner. Porter is another guest. Ethan is tasked with guiding Bea around the town, with tons of hallmark cliches throughout is all. Emilia is very into all the Christmas activities, and meets Porter through an eggnog tasting.

Here is the movie cover! (That's Bea and Ethan)

The story mainly followed Bea. I was personally more interesting in the plot following Emilia more, and wished that the movie followed her more. I liked all the characters in the movie, and I love Emilia's personality and enthusiasm. I found the relationship between Emilia and Porter slightly odd, because he looked much older than her. This also could be attributed to the way he dressed, which was very old fashioned. Emilia also went down a storyline where she thought Porter was an actor, which was pretty funny.

This got to Bea's head as she started to notice all the perfect moments she had with Ethan that seemed a little too good to be true.  She started questioning is Ethan was also an actor pretending to like her. This is where the climax of the movie was, where the magic of Christmas land started to fall apart. This was an idea I really enjoyed. There were parts of the town that was fake, which I will not spoil. But also parts that were genuine, like Ethan.

I ranked it a 7. I enjoyed the premise and the ending had me thinking. I enjoyed this movie, and it was definitely worth the watch. There were some things that took me out of the story though, which is what keeps it from being a ten.

Anyway, I have been having a lot of fun watching all these movies, and reflecting back on them.

See you soon,

Makayla
